Laurette DeJulio (nee Cloutier)

August 10, 1926 – November 16, 2019

With heavy hearts the family of Laurette DeJulio announces her peaceful passing surrounded by family and friends at the Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls on Saturday November 16, 2019.

She leaves in mourning her children Raymond (Louise) Montreuil of Iroquois Falls, Colette Grant of Barrie, her step-children Tammy DeJulio of Iroquois Falls, Daniel DeJulio of Iroquois Falls, and Lani DeJulio of Thunder Bay, her grandchildren Marc Montreuil (Jackie) of Stittsville, Julie Montreuil (Jay) of Belleville, Shelly Grant of Barrie, David Grant (Karen) of Valemount B.C., Joshua DeJulio of Iroquois Falls, Nicole Richer (Travis) of Webbwood, Karli Ellis of Iroquois Falls and Logan Ellis of Thunder Bay. She also leaves great-grandchildren, all of whom had a special place in her heart, also survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Julio (Doc) DeJulio, her parents Eugène and Alberta Cloutier (nee Charette), her brothers Ernest (Thérèse) Cloutier, Paul (Marie-Jeanne) Cloutier, Alexandre (Darquise) Cloutier and her sister Gertrude (Gaston) Charette.

She was a classy lady that had many friends young and old. She dedicated her life to her family while making an impact on all those that had the good fortune of knowing her. She was determined, fiercely loyal, proud, born and raised in Tunis, Ontario, studied at l’Académie St. Marie in Haileybury. She worked at Northern Telephone and Anson General Hospital for many years. She loved to socialize and was a great hostess right to the end, while always having snacks, treats and beverages at hand for any that visited her in the hospital or South Centennial Manor.

A special thank you to Doctor Wu who so lovingly cared for her, together with the staff of Anson General Hospital and staff of South Centennial Manor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Iroquois Falls Access Transit or South Centennial Manor Redevelopment Project.

A Funeral mass will be held at St-Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Iroquois Falls on Wednesday June 17th, 2020 at 11 am followed by the placement of her ashes with her husband in the Abitibi Cemetery Columbarium.

The maximum of people allowed in St-Anne's 

Church is 30% of its full capacity;

Funeral services taking place outdoors will be limited to 50 attendees; 

The wearing of a mask by everyone in the funeral home during visitations and funeral is recommended;

No memorial donations nor Mass will be accepted in person at the funeral home;

No food nor beverage services will be provided;

Washrooms will not be accessible;

Everyone must follow proper health and safety advice, including physical distancing of two metres from people who are not from the same household or their established 10-person social circle;

C’est avec le coeur lourd que la famille de Laurette DeJulio vous annonce son décès survenu paisiblement, entoureé de l’amour des siens, le samedi 16 novembre 2019 à l’hôpital Général Anson d’Iroquois falls.

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Raymond (Louise) Montreuil d’Iroquois Falls, Colette Grant de Barrie, ses beaux-enfants Tammy DeJulio de Iroquois Falls, Daniel DeJulio de Iroquois Falls, et Lani DeJulio de Thunder Bay, ses petits-enfants Marc Montreuil (Jackie) de Stittsville, Julie Montreuil (Jay) de Belleville, Shelly Grant deBarrie, David Grant (Karen) deValemount C.B., Joshua DeJulio de Iroquois Falls, Nicole Richer (Travis) de Webbwood, Karli Ellis de Iroquois Falls et Logan Ellis de Thunder Bay. Elle laisse également ses arrière-petits-enfants qui avaient tous une place spéciale dans son cœur ainsi que ses neveux et nièces, autres parentés et amis

Elle est allée rejoindre son époux Julio (Doc) DeJulio, ses parents Eugène et Alberta Cloutier (née Charette), ses frères Ernest (Thérèse) Cloutier, Paul (Marie-Jeanne) Cloutier, Alexandre (Darquise) Cloutier et sa sœur Gertrude (Gaston) Charette.

C'était une femme élégante qui avait beaucoup d'amis jeunes et vieux. Elle a consacré sa vie à sa famille tout en ayant une influence pour tous ceux qui ont eu la chance de la connaître. Elle était déterminée, extrêmement fidèle, fière, est née et a grandi à Tunis, en Ontario et a étudié à l’Académie St. Marie à Haileybury. Elle a travaillé à Northern Telephone et à l'hôpital Anson General pendant de nombreuses années. Elle aimait socialiser et était une excellente hôtesse jusqu'à la fin. Elle gardait toujours, au cas où, des collations, des friandises et des boissons à sa disposition à ceux qui lui rendaient visite à l'hôpital ou au Manoir South Centennial.

Un merci spécial au docteur Wu qui l’a si bien soignée, ainsi qu’au personnel de l’hôpital Anson General Hospital et du personnel de South Centennial Manor.

Au lieu de faire parvenir des fleurs, des dons peuvent être fait en sa mémoire à Iroquois falls Access Transit ou au Projet de développement du South Centennial manor.

Les funérailles auront lieu le mercredi 17 juin 2020 à 11h à l'Église Ste-Anne d'Iroquois Falls. Elle reposera avec son époux au Columbarium du cimetière Abitibi.
