In Loving Memory of
Abdelhadi Medina
June 8, 1952 - May 20, 2026
Abdelhadi "Abbey" Medina, survived by his brother Abdslam Medina, his sisters Mehdia Medina and Oumkaltoum Martil, and his son Tarik Medina. Brother and father to many others, an incredible number of lives intertwined. Abbey was an unconscious romantic towards the love of his life Judy Medina who passed away 3 years ago. He would tend to her every need and feed her every desire. They were the perfect example of a power couple that had each other's backs at every step in life. May he enjoy his time with her in the heavens.
A man of many arts, but specifically a master of the kitchen and management. Abbey was beyond just those fields. He was a force, he dealt with the chaos with a smile, he showed everyone it was going to be ok, with work or with life. He was all about elevating people to their fullest, you might have thought he was being stern with his advice or direction, but you'd find yourself admitting he was steering you in the right direction, every single time in the end.
An admirer of many things. Abbey loved travel, food, his wife, his family, his stamps "yes he was a major contributor to the philatelic society". He kept in touch with the people he had worked with for just 1 year, 30 years ago, and they cherished him enough to keep in touch with him through letters, social media, and dinner visits. He contributed stories of history because he had a passion for it, pushed people to experience things that were beyond their border of life, admired things that were new and modern with no judgement. In the past week, many stories have been unearthed about how great this man was.
He passed away peacefully in the home he made for himself and his wife. Having moved from a full life that already was established in Toronto to Val Gagne to explore the wilderness and affecting the town in the many ways he did... was the perfect ending. He will be missed. Always remembered, never forgotten. Rest In Peace.
The Interment will take place at 4 pm on Friday May 29, 2026 at the Immaculée-Conception Cemetery in Val Gagné and a gathering will follow at his home. Everyone who knew Abbey are welcome to attend.
