Alexander R. Gibson

December 8, 1926 – July 18, 2023

It is with great sadness his family announces the passing of Alexander Gibson at the Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls on Tuesday July 18, 2023 at the age of 96.

He will be remembered as an honest, hardworking, family man who had a wealth of stories to tell and he will be deeply missed by his wife of 74 years, Cecile Gibson (nee Ladouceur), his children Judy Graham (late Brian) and Bill (Laurie) Gibson, his grandchildren Tim, Tammy, Ronald (Shelly), Jenny and Joel (Joann) and his great-grandsons Brody and Grayson (affectionately known to him as Pat and Mike).

Alex is the brother of David Gibson and was predeceased by his parents Nathan and Geraldine Gibson and his siblings Wilfred, Margaret and Ann. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Alex has called South Centennial Manor home since November 2020 and we wish to thank ALL the staff for the excellent care that he was shown. There was always a smiling face and a kind word, which certainly goes a long way to make you feel welcome.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday July 24th at 1:30pm at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Matheson and a luncheon to follow at the Mary Queen of the World R.C. Church Hall in Matheson.
