"Art" Arthur Barrette

Arthur J. Barrette
September 18, 1946 – September 13, 2023

Art passed away at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane on Wednesday September 13, 2023, after a long battle with lung disease at the age of 76. Art was born in Cochrane to Ann Mathers and Rene Barrette.

He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings Raymond, Victor, Marie Whitting, Shirley Toal, Larry, Ron, Joe, his step-grandson Justin Wiess and a nephew Peter Barrette.

He will be missed by his loving wife Carol (nee Duhamel) and his children John (Drew), Jerry, Terry (Kathy) and his grandchildren Jennifer, Preston, Brandon, Thomas and Jason and his great-grandchildren Josh, Seth, Ethan and Phoenix.

He also leaves behind his twin brother Archie. He will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Art worked at National Grocers for 36 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for many years and a volunteer for Victim Services for 12 years. He loved to visit the people in the nursing home and hospital.

Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at Irvine & Irvine funeral home, 70 Seventh Ave, South, Cochrane on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 9:30 am to 11 am followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Ken Williams.
