Mr. Aurele (Pat) Roland Leon Belair

February 6, 1937 – November 30, 2020

Aurele passed away at his home in Cochrane on Monday November 30th, 2020 at the age of 83.  He will be deeply missed by his wife Reverend Edith May Belair (nee Russell).  His daughters Haley-Dani Belair (Jaxson Millette) and Karen Belair-Girard (Norm Girard).  His grandchildren Jessica Burkholder (Stan), Jeffrey Girard Sepideh , Kaitlin Murphy (Scott),  Kera Leigh Belair (William Alde), and Samantha Lavender.  Great grandchildren Ivoree, Oakley, Elijah, Xiomara, Alexander, Levi, Logan and Dominick. His sisters Marlene (Les) Burleigh who reside in St. Thomas and Diane (Reg) Thibault who reside in Florida USA.  Aurele has several sisters-in-law, Margaret Robertson (Neil), Dianne Black (John), Audrey Russell, David Russell (the late Elaine), brothers-in-law Cyril Harding (late Joan) and late Jack (late Patricia) Russell.  He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Raymond Belair and his mother Jeanne Belair (Russell), his grandson Mykail Belair and his great grandson Samuel Burkholder.

Aurele known by his friends and family as “Pat” was a legion member and past president 1998-2000. He loved to carve and paint.  He was best known for his “walking sticks” which were made from one piece of wood.  He was a barber for many years and then bought a dairy farm where we still reside.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Holy Trinity Parish Friday December 4th, 2020 at 11 am by invitation only due to Covid restrictions.  Burial will take place in the spring at the Cochrane Civic Cemetery Veteran Section.
