Bradley Wellington Peever

May 10, 1935 - August 1, 2026

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Bradley Wellington Peever, who passed away peacefully at Anson General Hospital on August 1, 2026. 

Born May 10, 1935 to Wellington and Gertrude Peever and raised in Iroquois Falls during the Great Depression. His formative years helped shape him and his four siblings into a tight knit family and helped instill the importance of sticking together through thick and thin. They encouraged his adventurous spirit for the outdoors as an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He explored the north by any means necessary on his Elan skidoo, cross country skis, jeep, canoe, bicycle and later on his "bug".

It was in 1964 when he met Carol, the love of his life, a match made in heaven. Together for 56 years of marriage, through illness and tragic loss of their son Georgie at the age of 5 years old. His devotion to Carol was unwavering. He cared for her when she was very ill and always supported her in her pursuit of finding the best blueberry patch each summer! 

Together they raised John, Mike and Bev. He sparked their adventurous spirits with endless hunting, and fishing trips at his camp, searching for trout in creeks and streams. Always planning the next one with enthusiasm for his family and many friends. He passed along his caring and generous spirit to his Grandchildren, Nick, Keisthan, Aiden, Jesse, James, Ambrose, Abigail and Great Grandson Bohdi.

For 30 years, he worked as a Class A+ Millwright at Abitibi-Price Power and Paper Company, retiring in 1992 to fulfill a lifelong dream of prospecting and staking claims with a group of good friends. 

He carried on the family tradition, love of storytelling and with the help of his sister Beaulah they wrote the beloved "Peever Tales." He was a wealth of knowledge as the family historian, and the book holds his many stories and memories. 

He was an active member in his community for 91 years! He had a special gift of not only seeing the good in everyone, but bringing out the best in them. His faith and Christian friends and community at Iroquois Falls Bible Chapel kept him going through the tough times. 

He loved spending time at his cottage at Nellie Lake which was his place to slow down and be together with family, friends and neighbours sitting around the campfire telling stories and enjoying his thermos of tea.

He will be deeply missed by his children: John (Nancy), Mike (late Kelly) and Bev (Steve), Grandchildren Nick, Keisthan and Aiden; James and Jesse; Abigail & Ambrose; Great Grandson Bhodi and Beloved Sister Beaulah (Richard) and Sister-in-Laws Dorothy and Linda. 

He was predeceased by his loving wife Carol, son Georgie; his parents Wells and Gert, his siblings Barb, Barry and Brenda; brothers-in-law Sonny and Mike. As well as Carol's parents James and Katherine and her siblings Kay, Melvin, Robert and Charlotte.

Many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who loved him dearly.

Our family would like to thank the staff at the staff at Anson General Hospital for their care, compassion, and support.

Visitations will be held at the Irvine & Irvine Funeral Home on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

A funeral service will take place at the Iroquois Falls Bible Chapel on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. followed  with luncheon. Private interment will take place at the Kelso Gold lands Cemetery.
