Brady Baker Obituary

Brady Baker

July 5, 1992 – May 26. 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brady Baker on May 26, 2025.

Although his time here was far too short, Brady made a lasting impact, leaving this world exactly as he lived it – unapologetically himself.

In only 32 years, Brady lived more than most do in a lifetime.  Brady was the kind of person who showed up unmissable, hugged too hard, and make jokes at all the wrong times (which somehow always turned out to be the right times).  He was proud, and he was all heart – whether he was making someone laugh, speaking his truth, offering a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand, or even a hard right hook.  You never had to guess where Brady stood.  He was fiercely loyal to those he loved and never wasted time pretending to be anything other than exactly who he was.  And above all, he never let the people he loved forget that they mattered.

Brady was a proud driller for NPLH, carrying that title with the same unstoppable energy he brought to every part of his life. He approached the rig with grit, determination, and a work ethic that never quit.  Brady didn’t do anything halfway – he gave his all, every shift, every job, and every time.  He stood by his crew the same way he stood by everyone in his life – with loyalty and unwavering dedication.  He thrived on the challenge, embraced the grind, and took pride in a job well done. Drilling wasn’t just a job to Brady – it was something he was truly great at, and he knew it.

His untamed energy wasn’t a flaw – it was his love language.  It was how he moved through the world: fully, honestly, and without an apology.  If you were lucky enough to be loved by Brady, you felt it in every laugh, every conversation, and every protective gesture.

He was chaos. He was love.  He was ours.

He leaves behind a family that loved him dearly: his parents Kym Baker, Robert Selman, Herb & Dorina Defaria; his siblings Madison Selma, Rylee Defaria, Justin Defaria, Wyatt Selman, Christian Defaria, Sheilah Demarce, Hayden Baker and Robby Lawrence; his grandparents Edwin Vere Selman, Etelvina Defaria, Marie & Dorel Savin; his beloved nieces and nephews Gemma & Jasper Selman, Amiylah Lynne Defaria, and Zander Demarce; Countless friends who became family, and way too many step kids.

A celebration of Brady’s life will be held on July 5th, 2025 in Cochrane, Ontario with details to follow.  All who knew him, laughed with him, and loved him will be welcome.

Rest easy, Brady. You were one of a kind.  Heaven just got a little weirder, a lot rowdier and definitely a lot funnier.  We will carry your love, your laughter, and your chaos with us – always.
