In Loving Memory of
Mrs. Brenda Lepage
August 11, 1943 – September 19, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Lepage (née Frederick) at Temiskaming Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, on September 19, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born and raised in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, Brenda was the cherished daughter of the late Daniel Frederick and the late Rosa Frederick (née Sordok). She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Norman Lepage (2019), and her son, Randall “Randy” Lepage (2024).
She leaves behind her eldest son, Richard (Erna), and daughter, Kathy (Dan), as well as her grandchildren: Matthew (Pricilla), Wade, Nicole (Morgan), Taylor (Jesse), Caitlyn, and Kyle (Sarah). She was also the great-grandmother of Tristan, Christian, and Trent. Brenda was the younger sister of the late Julia Dubin (née Frederick) and the late Rose (née Frederick) (late George) Liznick.
Brenda was a shy and quiet person who took great pride in raising her children and caring for her home. She loved spending time outdoors with her family—picking blueberries and mushrooms, camping, fishing, and visiting Norman’s trap camp. She was a true animal lover, never able to turn away any creature Norman or the children brought home (yes, even the snakes!).
As her children grew up, moved away, and started families of their own, Brenda remained a constant presence in their lives. She kept in touch through phone calls, handwritten letters, and thoughtful visits. She attended hockey games, signed her grandchildren up for swimming lessons, and always made sure they had change for the candy store. She never forgot a birthday, always sending a card in the mail and calling to sing “Happy Birthday.” Brenda loved being a grandmother and took great pride in the role.
In her spare time, Brenda loved to read. She made weekly trips to the Iroquois Falls Public Library, browsing the aisles for the latest romance or thriller novels—or at least the ones she hadn’t read yet.
Brenda also enjoyed game shows, especially those involving wordplay and puzzles. She had a quick mind for solving phrases, particularly on Wheel of Fortune—likely thanks to her love of reading.
In her later years, Brenda resided at the Iroquois Falls Manor and later at Extendicare Tri-Town Nursing Home in Haileybury, Ontario. To the delight of her family, she came out of her shell and thrived in these communities. She participated in Bingo, arts and crafts, and puzzle-solving activities. She especially loved having her nails painted—red being her favourite colour—and cherished the companionship of both residents and staff. Her face would light up with every family visit, especially if they came bearing a Tim Hortons coffee. Brenda truly loved her coffee!
On behalf of Brenda’s family, we would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff and fellow residents at both care homes, as well as the nurses and doctors at Temiskaming Hospital. Your kindness and care meant the world to her—and to us.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
Cremation has taken place, and private funeral arrangements will be organized by the family at a later date.
