With heavy hearts, the family of Caroline announce her passing at the Timmins & District Hospital in Timmins, Ontario on Sunday October 29, 2023, at the age of 83. She will be greatly missed by her spouse Charles Chakasim, her children Martha Davey (Peter), Doris Hester (Hugo), Jessie Davey, Roger Davey, Lillian Davey-Johnstone (Vilmer), Gordon Davey (Doris), Shirley Davey Sparling (George), John Davey and Carmen Davey (Lally). Mama of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Maureen McCauley. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Caroline “Mama” was predeceased by her children Maureen Cheechoo (Elmer), Oliver Davey Jr. (Pauline), Clifford Davey, Donald Davey, her grand-daughter Brooke Cheechoo, her parents Florrie (nee Reuben) and Sinclair McCauley and her siblings Shirley Nelson, Alex McCauley, Roy McCauley, Sinclair McCauley Jr., and Bertha McCauley.

Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at Irvine & Irvine funeral home, 70 Seventh Ave. South in Cochrane on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 2 pm to 4pm.

The funeral mass will take place in Moosonee on Friday, November 3, 2023.
