In Loving Memory of
Cathy Beaton
April 10, 1965 – September 2, 2024
With great sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Cathy, surrounded by her loving family at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane on Monday, September 2nd, 2024, at the age of 59.
Cathy was the daughter of the late Nelson and Gladise McCready-Douglas and Gerry Trépanier. She was the beloved wife of Jim Beaton, and the devoted mother to her children, Tamara Konopelky, Nikkie Mann, and Tyler Beaton. Cathy’s love extended far beyond her immediate family. While she was the proud mother of three, she had many other honorary children whom she cherished and loved as her own. Her grandchildren, Owen and Mya Konopelky, and Jack and James Mann, were the light of her life, and she was deeply committed to their happiness.
Cathy’s deep love for her friends, family, and community was evident in everything she did. Her home was a sanctuary for those she loved, and she took immense joy in creating a warm and welcoming space for all. She will be profoundly missed by her siblings, Earl McCready, Angie Beauchamp, Maurice “Turtle” Trépanier, Rob, Rick, and Dave McCready, Cheryl Wettlaufer, and Gaven Halton, as well as by the many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends whose lives she touched.
Cathy’s caring nature and unwavering support for those around her made her a beloved figure in the community. She was not only a mother and grandmother but also a guiding force for many who were fortunate enough to call her a friend. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 1-3 pm at the Cochrane Pavilion. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Hope Air, whose support was instrumental in helping Cathy receive crucial medical treatment in Toronto.
