In Loving Memory of

Mrs. Cecile M. Gibson (nee Ladouceur)

April 18, 1925 – December 20, 2023

It is with great sadness that her family announces the passing of Cecile Gibson at the Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 at the age of 98.

She will be remembered as a caring mother who loved gardening, baking, berry picking, and playing cribbage, especially if she could win.  She will be missed by her children Judy Graham (late Brian) and Bill (Laurie) Gibson, her grandchildren Tim, Tammy, Ronald (Shelly), Jenny, and Joel (Joann) and her great-grandsons Brody and Grayson, affectionately known to her as “her boys.”

Cecile was predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Alex Gibson, parents Gabrielle and Oscar Ladouceur, and her siblings Aline and Henry.  She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and her special pup Pippa. 

Cecile has called South Centennial Manor home since August 2020 and the family wishes to thank all the staff for their excellent care.  The residents are treated like one big family and she made many wonderful friends there.

A Graveside Service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Saturday June 8, 2024 at 1 pm. A Reception will follow at the Family Lodge in Matheson and everyone is welcome to attend.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the South Centennial Manor Redevelopment Fund or a charity of your choice, and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
