Clifford Doiron Obituary

Clifford Gérald Doiron, 92, passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 30, 2024, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 22, 1931, in Timmins, Ontario, Clifford dedicated his life to his family, work and community. He was a devoted husband to Colette Courchesne Doiron for 63 years and a loving father to three children: JoAnne, Carole, and Guy. 

Clifford was a respected electrician who spent 43 years running his own business, Matheson Electric Plumbing & Heating.He had a passion for cottage life, traveling in his Roadtrek, and spending time in his garage where he was always innovating various projects and repairing a multitude of things. He cherished weekends at the family cottage, which he built over the years and eventually made his permanent residence, where he lived until his last days. Known affectionately as "Grand-pop" to his grandchildren, Clifford was an integral part of their lives. He was known for his hard work, dedication, and unwavering support for his loved ones. His commitment to helping others and his strong moral compass set a standard for everyone who knew him. Clifford impacted many lives, and his legacy of love, service, and values will continue to guide his family.

Clifford is predeceased by his parents, Stanislaus and Ida, wife Colette, daughter JoAnne, and  siblings Jeanine, Jacqueline, and Phillip. He is survived by his children, Carole (Jean) and Guy (Paulette); his sister, Diane Pretty; his grandchildren, Serge, Natasha (Mickey), Joël (Mélissa), Zoé (Ryan), Kayla, and Korey (Kaidin); as well as his great-grandchildren, Jaden, Braeden, Kael, Zaed, Zéa, Marek, Callia, Sébastien, Bianca, Mia, Kelson, Coleson, Landon, Aaden, Kadelyn, and Koraley.

For the past 10 years, Clifford found companionship with his dear friend, Marie Claire Rioux, whose support and love brought him much joy.

A funeral service in Clifford’s honor will be held on August 24th at 11 a.m. at Mary Queen of the World Church in Matheson.
