In loving memory of
Donald Paul Chartier
January 14, 1954 – February 5, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Paul Chartier, in Ottawa, at the age of 70. Don was born in Iroquois Falls, the son of the late Lucien Chartier and Anne (Klotz) Chartier.
Don is survived by his daughters; Natasha (Alex Arndt) and Véronique (Robert Hitchen), along with his grandsons Liam and Jacob Arndt. Don leaves his brothers Michael (late Francine), Richard (Elaine), and Brian (Jackie) as well as his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his cousins in the Chartier, Lemelin and Klotz families.
Don and his family moved to Ottawa in the mid-80s from Smooth Rock Falls. In recent years, he was a resident of Marochel Manor where he was cared for with consideration and kindness. The family is grateful to the staff of Marochel Manor for the care provided to Don.
Don will be remembered for his love of history, toys and movies. He also loved his Pontiac Firebird with the T-roof. Rarely did a week go by that Don didn't go see a film. Don was very sociable, he loved to tell jokes and to make people smile.
As per his wishes, cremation has occurred, and his ashes will be interred in the Abitibi Cemetery in Iroquois Falls.
