Mr. Donald Arthur Cowell
September 19, 1936 – June 27, 2026
It is with heavy hearts, but with deep gratitude for his life; His family announces the passing of Donald Arthur Cowell surrounded by his loving family on Saturday June 27th, 2026 at the age of 89, in his 90th, year at Bingham Memorial Hospital by outstanding caring and compassionate Nurses, Doctors, and Staff.
He will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife; Diane (Birch) Cowell. Donald was the son of Frank and Ruby (Waldren) Cowell (predeceased). He was the proud middle child of seven siblings; Carrie & Charlie (predeceased) Sutton, Norman (predeceased) & Nan Cowell, Eva & Munroe Burton (predeceased), Carl & Yvonne (predeceased) Cowell, Charlie & Donnally Cowell (predeceased), Cora & Norman Bilodeau.
A loving and devoted Father to Ronald Cowell and to Jamie-Elizabeth ‘Wendy’ Judd-Birch. A proud and dedicated Grandad to Treena Gagnon, Aleksandra (Dillion) Chao, Christian-James ‘Pooh-Bear’ Cowell, and Christophyr Campsall. A Great Grandad to his pride and joy, Yuki Campsall.
His three Godchildren; Olive VanDerKooy, her twin brother Thomas Burton and to ‘Miss Too Little’ – Sarah Ford.
He also leaves behind many relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation on Friday July 3rd, 2026, from 6 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday July 4th, 2026 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
The Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 452, 5th Avenue, Matheson, Ontario, on Saturday July 4th, 2026 at 1:30 pm followed by the interment at Hillcrest Cemetery and with reception to follow in the St. Andrew’s United Church Hall.
Donations can be made to Bingham Memorial Hospital or a Charity of your choice.
