It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest announces his passing at the Lady Minto Hospital on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the age 89. He leaves in mourning his children: Edward (Paulette), Georgina (Rick), Sylvia, Terry, Trisha (Terry), Holly (Robert), E.J. and Jody. He was the grandfather of Samantha (Nick), Michelle, Shyla, Crystal, Patrick, Bridgette, Melanie, Logan, Christopher, Chase, Dillon (Sarah), Erica, Sophie (Gaetan) and great-grandfather of Kasey, Laurance (Kyle), Shirley (Kate), Sydney, Jake and Braxton.

Ernest was the brother of Donald. He also leaves other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Georgina (nee Churcher) Whiting, his son Fred, his daughter Margaret, his parents Frederick George Whiting and Gertrude Katherine (nee MacFrederick) Whiting and his siblings Frank, Melburne, Fred, Edward, and Joy.

Ernest will be laid to rest at the Greenwood Cemetery beside his wife Georgina Whiting.
