With great sorrow the family of George announces his sudden passing in the early hours of Sunday October 29th, 2023 at the age of 67. He was the son of the late Louise and Frederick Sackaney. Dear husband of Betty Sackaney (nee Singer), devoted father of Chris (Ginger) Sackaney, late Bonnie Sackaney (late Jim Deluce), Adam Sackaney and Fred Sackaney, grandfather of Skyler Sackaney (Chloey Frank), Raven Babcock, Amy Sackaney and Keith Sackaney (Emily Roycroft). George was the brother of Gilbert Sackaney, late Helen Sackaney, Maurice Sackaney, Christopher Polson, Doris Sackaney, Roy (Marilyn) Sackaney, Debora Lilly Sackaney, Virginia Sackaney late Leonard Sackaney, late John Sackaney, late Sam Sackaney and late Joseph Sackaney. George will also be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews Isaac, Dakota, Shane, Jessica, Angel, Darren, Kassy, Shawn, Jamie (Makayla), Kayla, Marvin, Shane, Kyle, Jeremiah, Carla, Maurice, Tyler, Jeff, Ashley, Raymond and Keisha,many other relatives and friends.

The wake will be held at the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation (Wahgoshig First Nation), 140 Concession Road, starting on Thursday November 2nd, 2023 from 10 am. The Funeral Service will start at 11 am on Friday November 3rd, 2023 and the Funeral Procession will follow to the Burial Site of the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation Cemetery.
