George Edward Craig Sparling
June 17, 1953 - October 4, 2024
It is with great sadness that his family announces his passing at his home on October 4, 2024 at the age of 71 years. Loving husband of Dale Sparling (Denault) for 48 years, loving father of Marie Sparling and George Sparling (Renée). Beloved Step Father to Rodney Peever (Renée), Rhonda Bauer (Jozef) and the late Kelly Ann Peever. Grandpa of James Hart, Chelsey Hart (Sean Ranta),Mckayla Renwick-Peever, Hayden Bujuld (Kayla), Justin Denommée , Tysen Sparling, Kolten Renwick-Sheppard, Toriah Renwick- Sheppard, Tyanna Renwick- Bondarenko. Great grandpa to Amelia Theriault, and Rosalie Horner. He is also survived by his sister Ruth Sparling (late Renald Quevillon), his beloved nephew William Kilpatrick and 4 more generations of nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his furry friends Princess and Lady.
He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence Millen and Signe Wold, brothers: Floyd Millen (2020), Francis Millen (2021); and sisters: Verna Millen (1953), Mildred Millen (2011), Vida Sparling (1951), and Colleen Sparling (1951).
After the sudden passing of his mother Signe Wold, George was raised by his beloved grandmother Mimie Wold and Edward Neil in Porquis Juction.
He was a long time 30 + year employee of the Ontario Northland Railway retiring in 2004. He was also a car enthusiast, small engine mechanic, welder fabricator and had numerous other hobbies.
He loved various types of music and had devilish sense of humour.
Cremation has taken place, and no ceremonies will be held. Burial will take place at a later date for select family and friends at the Porquis Junction Cemetery.
