Georgette (Viau) Vezeau

C’est avec tristesse que sa famille annonce le décès de Georgette, survenu le 21 novembre 2025 à l’Hôpital Lady Minto de Cochrane, à l’âge de 96 ans. Elle était la fille de feu Isidore et de feue Blanche (Morenger) Viau, ainsi que l’épouse de feu Émile Vezeau.

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Emilien (Anne-Marie), Yvon (Elizabeth), Monique (Edward) Pawson, Daniel (Rozanne), Réjean, Lorraine et Michel (Francine).

Elle laisse également dans le deuil ses petits-enfants :  Carole (Marc) Boucher, Diane (Gilles) Mageau, Carole (Denis) Cadieux, Lianne (Scott) MacKenzie, Renée (Francis) Beaulieu, Shelly (Roger) Lamarche, Amy, Chad (Sarah) Pawson, Robert (Amy), Sylvie, Martin (Kristen) Lanthier, Miguel (Natasha) Lanthier, Eric (Emma) et Joel (Kourtney); ainsi que ses arrière-petits-enfants : Lana Maude, Massey Ray, Derek, Ricky, Cindy, Amy, Ashley, Kelly, Taylor, Levi, Gérard, Félix, Fred, Nicco, Heidi, Kenzie, Ava, Jake, quatre arrière arrière petits-enfants ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.

Georgette était la sœur de feu Aurèle (feue Lise), feu Réal (feue Marie-Marthe), Cécile Levasseur, Paul-Émile (Madeleine), Fernande (feu Albert) Berkin et Gilberte.

Georgette aimait cuisiner; sa famille se souviendra toujours de ses fameux «beignes de Mémère ». Elle aimait aussi faire du camping, pêcher, prendre des marches, skier, tricoter et jouer aux cartes.

La famille tient à remercier le personnel de la Villa Minto pour les excellents soins prodigués à Georgette durant son séjour, ainsi qu’Analie et les infirmières de l’Hôpital Lady Minto pour les soins empreints de compassion qu’elle a reçus dans ses derniers moments.

Le service funéraire aura lieu au printemps avec l’enterrement au cimetière catholique de Cochrane.

En mémoire de Georgette, des dons peuvent être faits à la Villa Minto de Cochrane.

The family announces with great sorrow the peaceful passing of Georgette on November 21, 2025, at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane, at the age of 96. She was the daughter of the late Isidore and Blanche (Morenger) Viau, and the beloved wife of the late Émile Vezeau.

She leaves to mourn her children: Emilien (Anne-Marie), Yvon (Elizabeth), Monique (Edward) Pawson, Daniel (Rozanne), Réjean, Lorraine, and Michel (Francine).

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren:  Carole (Marc) Boucher, Diane (Gilles) Mageau, Carole (Denis) Cadieux, Lianne (Scott) MacKenzie, Renée (Francis) Beaulieu, Shelly (Roger) Lamarche, Amy, Chad (Sarah) Pawson, Robert (Amy), Sylvie, Martin (Kristen) Lanthier, Miguel (Natasha) Lanthier, Eric (Emma), and Joel (Kourtney); her great-grandchildren: Lana Maude, Massey Ray, Derek, Ricky, Cindy, Amy, Ashley, Kelly, Taylor, Levi, Gerard, Felix, Fred, Nicco, Heidi, Kenzie, Ava and Jake, four great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Georgette was the cherished sister of the late Aurèle (late Lise), the late Réal (late Marie-Marthe), Cécile Levasseur, Paul-Émile (Madeleine), Fernande (late Albert) Berkin, and Gilberte.

Georgette had a deep love for cooking and baking, and will be especially remembered for her famous donuts. She enjoyed camping, fishing, taking long walks, skiing, knitting and playing cards with her siblings. Her hobbies and talents brought joy to all who knew her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Villa Minto for the wonderful care she received during her stay, and to Analie and the nurses at Lady Minto Hospital for the compassion and support shown in her final days.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.  She will be laid to rest at the Catholic Cemetery in Cochrane.
