Mr. Gerald ''Jerry'' Shannon

March 18, 1953 – June 16, 2026

With great sorrow we announce the passing of Jerry on Tuesday June 16th, 2026 at the age of 73 at the Timmins & District Hospital. Jerry was the son of the late Roy Shannon and late Ollie Evelyn Shannon (Coupland). He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Linda Shannon (nee Fournier), daughter Rebecca (Richard) Loiselle, adopted son Bruce Shannon, Linda’s children Suzanne (Steve) Pilon, Michelle (Cory) Gauthier and George Chartrand (Paul Bellini), grandchildren Joshua, Matthew, Eric, Gracy, Griffon, Karine and Geneviève. He was the brother of John (Jan) Shannon, Ron (Marilyn) Shannon, late Gwen (Brian) Bruce, Dennis (Linda) Shannon, Geraldine (Peter) Doey and Angie Shannon. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was a longtime underground miner at the Dome Mine and he loved to go to work everyday. He also loved his motorcycle Bertha and spent many hours and days travelling throughout Canada to rallies and Sturges in the USA. Jerry loved people and would talk to anyone. His voice was big but his heart bigger and gentler.

Relatives and Friends are welcome to attend a celebration of his life at the Black River Matheson Family Lodge, 376 2nd Street Matheson beginning at 1 pm on Saturday July 4th, 2026.
