Gilbert (Gib) Bernier

June 19, 1938 – January 22, 2023

Gilbert died peacefully on Sunday January 22nd, 2023 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his father Leo Bernier, mother Brona Bernier (nee Sobchuk), and his sister Brenda Angevine. He leaves behind his brother Raymond Bernier, nieces and nephew Jodi Angevine, Stuart Angevine, Tamara Bernier-Evans and Trista Bernier-Grant.

He worked in various departments at the Abitibi Paper Mill, in the grinder room (where his grandfather worked), in HR and in the steam plant.  He also worked at Star Transfer as a trucker making his way up to management.
He loved gardening, fishing, hunting and cooking and will be missed by friends and family who shared these passions with him.

A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at St Anne’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday May 25th, 2023 at 4 pm followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Iroquois Falls.
