Irene was born in Timmins and lived in Iroquois Falls for sixty years before returning to live in Timmins. She spent many years teaching in both communities. She loved spending time with her family and was always ready to attend family functions, shop with her sisters and play cards especially bridge and making crafts. Irene was a great cook and made many delicious meals for family and friends when she was living on the farm.
Irene’s calm and positive demeanor provided support to all her family members. She had a strong faith, and this gives us comfort in knowing she will be welcomed into heaven by those she has missed and loved.
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff on the Mattagami pod at Timmins Extendicare for their great care.
If desired, memorial donations would be greatly appreciated in favor of the South Centennial Manor Redevelopment Project (cheques payable to AGH Foundation) or to the Timmins & District Hospital Foundation.
