In loving memory of
Mr. Ivan Keith Delaurier
July 16, 1944 – August 11, 2023
After a lengthy illness surrounded by his family Ivan passed away on August 11th, 2023 at the Bingham Memorial Hospital in Matheson. He was the son of late Charles Delaurier (1973) and late Margaret Hopkins (1988). He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Marilynn Delaurier (nee Lapierre).
He also leaves behind his children, Stephen (Josie) Cable of l’Anse-au-Clair Labrador, Michael Delaurier of Matheson and by his only daughter Angela (Ron) Gendron. His grandchildren Melissa, Caroline Tayah and Nolan of Matheson, Great grandchildren Kristina and Jane, in-laws Rémi (Héléne) Lapierre, Jules Lapierre, Giséle Lapierre of Ottawa, sister-in-law Monique Coughlin of Timmins. He was also predeceased by his brother Erwin Delaurier, two brothers-in-law Brian Coughlin and J.C. Laforge. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews in the Delaurier and Lapierre family. Also his precious cousins in the third family and Noella and Raymond Cournoyer.
Ivan was a hard worker Machine Equipment Operator for Alarie & Sons for over 22 years. A company which he had the most respect for. And Millwright at Kidd Creek Mines for over twenty years and finished his career as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of the Black River Matheson Fire Department for over 25 years. During his younger days in the 60’s he was part of a band “The Continentals” along with three musicians, late David, late Keith, and late Barry.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Celebration of his life on Saturday August 19th, 2023 at Mary Queen of the World Parish Hall, 458 4th, Avenue, Matheson, Ontario between 1pm & 4pm.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Bingham Memorial Hospital and would be greatly appreciated.
