Jean-Paul Proulx

March 12, 1957 - September 22, 2020

After an extended period of overtime and a long, hard-fought battle, J-P has succumbed to cancer at the Anson General Hospital on September 22nd, 2020. At the age of 63, with his loving wife Joanna by his bedside, surrounded by love, Jean-Paul Proulx of Iroquois Falls AKA J-P or Jeeps, left this earth to be reunited with his father, Lucien (1982) and his mother Des-Anges Nee Gaudette (2002). Leaving behind his sons, Patrick (Kristina), Matthieu (Reshma), his daughter Christa Richardson (Kyle), step sons Bart and Andrzej (Evelyne). Proud pepère of Mia, Mikhail, Xalina, Maximilien and soon to be born baby girl Clarke. Also left to mourn are his nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends. A link has been lost, left to hold the family chain are Monique Ouellette (Richard), Jocelyne Kwong, Simone Lacoursière (Gaetan), Fernand (Wynne), Gilles (Carole), and Marielle Lauzon (Michael).

J-P worked at the local Paper Mill and took an early retirement to pursue his business, J-P Drafting Services. Jeep was well known in this community to volunteer his time and services to many clubs and organizations. He was also a long time member of the Iroquois Falls Minor Hockey Association and the Ringette Association, holding different positions but truly loved coaching. What J-P loved the most was his family, gatherings, and suppers. He was always looking forward to family camping.

A mentor, proud husband, father, pépère, and brother; he will be greatly missed.

Visitations will be held at Irvine & Irvine Funeral Home, 641 DeTroyes Avenue, Iroquois Falls on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at 4 pm at the St. Anne Church in Iroquois Falls. ***Covid-19 restrictions in place. ***

The maximum of people allowed at the same time in Irvine & Irvine funeral home is 30% of its full capacity at one time, rotation may take place;

The maximum of people allowed in St. Anne’s Church is 30% of its full capacity;

The wearing of a mask by everyone in the funeral home and church during visitations and funeral is mandatory;

No memorial donations nor Mass will be accepted in person at the funeral home;

No food nor beverage services will be provided;

Washrooms will not be accessible;

Everyone must follow proper health and safety advice, including physical distancing of two meters from people who are not from the same household or their established 10-person social circle;

Après un long combat et une grande bataille acharnée, J-P a succombé à un cancer à l'hôpital Général Anson le 22 septembre 2020. À l’âge de 63 ans, avec son épouse Joanna à ses côtés, entouré d’amour, Jean-Paul Proulx d’Iroquois Falls allias J-P ou Jeep laisse cette terre pour aller rejoindre son père Lucien (1982) et sa mère Des-Anges née Gaudette (2002).

Il laisse dans le deuil ses fils Patrick (Kristina), Matthieu (Reshma), sa fille Christa Richardson (Kyle), et ses beaux-fils Bart et Andrzej (Evelyne). Fier pepère de Mia, Mikhail, Xalina, Maximilien et bientôt à naître bébé fille Clarke. Il laisse également dans le deuil ses nièces, neveux et de nombreux parents et amis. Un maillon a été brisé dans la chaine familiale de Monique Ouellette (Richard), Jocelyne Kwong, Simone Lacoursière (Gaetan), Fernand (Wynne), Gilles (Carole) et Marielle Lauzon (Michael).

J-P a travaillé à l'usine de papier locale et a pris une retraite anticipée pour poursuivre son entreprise, J-P Drafting Services. Jeep était bien connu dans la communauté pour donner son temps et ses services à de nombreux clubs et organisations. Il a également été membre, pendant plusieurs années, de l'Association de hockey mineur d'Iroquois Falls et de l'Association de ringuette, occupant différents postes mais préférait vraiment être entraineur.

Ce que J-P aimait le plus, c'était sa famille, ses rassemblements et ses soupers. Il avait toujours hâte de faire du camping en famille.

Un mentor, fier mari, père, pepère et frère, il nous manquera énormément.

Les visites auront lieu au Salon funéraire Irvine & Irvine, 641 Ave DeTroyes, Iroquois Falls le samedi 26 septembre 2020 de 13h à 15h30. Les funérailles suivront à 16h à l’Église St.Anne d’Iroquois Falls. ***Les restrictions du Covid-19 sont toujours en place. ****
