It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeannine surrounded by her family at the Timmins & District Hospital on Wednesday August 11th, 2021, at the age of 86. She was the wife of the late Gérard Gagné, dear mother of late Normand (Jackie), Thérèse, Roger (Lynn) and Paul (Brenda), cherished grandmother of Helene Gagné (Dominic Flaminio), Jacie (Lindsey Gagné), Martine Gagné (Matt Stella) and Steven Gagné (Aleah Thomas) great grandmother of Tristan Longpré, Khloe, Kali Gagné and Mylee Flaminio. She was the sister of late Germaine (late F-Xavier Gaudreau), late Noëlla (late Rémi St-Jacques), Viola (late Rosaire Gagné), late Yvonne (late Ludger) Thériault, late Marie (late Alcide) St-Yves, late Aurore (late Iberville) Gagné, late Henri (Pauline) Leblanc, late Romeo (Betty) Leblanc, late Oscar (late Jeanne) Leblanc and Joe (Shirley) Leblanc. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also predeceased by her father Hector Leblanc and her mother Albertine Leblanc (nee Ducharme)

Jeannine was a woman of immense spirit and her ability to entertain and share joy will not be forgotten. Operating the Gagne family convenience store, aptly named Jean’s Handy Store, in Iroquois Falls for 50 years, Jeannine made her mark as a pillar of community. She continued this role with her family and in the Cambridge Place Apt. (Purple Palace) after the store’s closure, by getting people together to share stories, laughs, and play card games. Her wonderful presence, kindness, and smile will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who came into her store. “Toujours dans nos coeurs”.

Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at Irvine & Irvine funeral home, 641 deTroyes Avenue on Monday August 16th, 2021, from 12 noon to 1:30 followed by the Mass of Christian burial at Sts-Martyrs Roman Catholic Church at 2 pm followed by burial at the Abitibi Cemetery.
