The family announces the passing of Joseph “Tommy” on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the Lady Minto hospital of Cochrane at the age of 90 with family by his side. He will be dearly missed by his children Lucie, late Leon (Pauline), late Charlie (Marlene), Alice (Victor), Claire, Peggy, Susan (Gary), Patricia, Judy, Stella, Sylvia, Eric, Jennifer. He will be missed by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, niece, uncle, cousin and friends.

Predeceased by his late beloved wife Jean Sackaney (nee Longpeter) and his brother John Sackaney and also by many late step-sisters, his two children, Leon & Charlie, his grandchildren, Jessica Payne and Devin Sackaney.

Visitations will be held at Irvine & Irvine funeral home, 70 seventh Avenue South, Cochrane on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 6pm to 8 pm and on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 starting at 9:30am to 10:30 am.
The funeral mass will follow on Wednesday, April 23, 2026 at 11am at the Transfiguration church in Cochrane.

Joseph will be laid to rest with his wife in the Spring at the Cochrane R.C. Cemetery.
