Joyce Joan Gauthier (nee Clarke)

June 29, 1934 – December 2, 2019

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of Joyce at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane, ON on December 2, 2019 at the age of 85 years. She was the loving wife of the late Marcel Gauthier, mother of Michel, JoAnne (Daniel) Arsenault, Lorrie (Brian) Wilson, Terry (Yvan) Bruneau and Lianne (Wayne) Raymond. Grandmother of David (Tash), Suzanne (Joel), Kathryn (Bryan), Amanda (Kate), Celina (David), Stephane (Edith), Maxime (Tom), Joey and Lizanne (Jamie). Great-Grandmother to Kayla, Nathaniel, Zachary, Mackenzie, Kason, Ivy, Lexie, Carson, Kaelum, Rhea and Andy. She has also had the blessing of being a Great-Great-Grandmother to Jackson and Izabella and there are numerous nephews and nieces that have held such a special place in her heart.

Joyce also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Monique Genier, Margaret Veillieux, Liz Clarke and Bunny Clarke.

Predeceased by her very special friends Jeanne Gauthier (nee Auger) and Betty Ouellette (nee Cox).

Joyce spent all of her life in Hanna Township. She was loved by everyone for her compassion and gentle nature. She had a never-ending supply of love for children and she enjoyed her years working as cook for the Cochrane Day Care. She volunteered for many years at the Lady Minto Tuck Shop. She was loved and respected by so many and will be greatly missed by all the hearts she has touched in her lifetime.

Visitation and blessings will be held at Irvine & Irvine Funeral Home on Wednesday December 4, 2019 from 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Transfiguration Church at 11am on Thursday December 5, 2019 followed by cremation. There is a light luncheon in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lady Minto Hospital Palliative Care or Alzheimer’s Society.
