Judy Loon Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Judy Loon

Sunrise December 6, 1963 – Sunset December 1, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Loon, a cherished member of the Community Living Iroquois Falls’ family since 1998.

Judy first joined Community Living Iroquois Falls at the Radio Street Residence, where she quickly became known for her warmth and gentle spirit.  When the residence closed in 2003, she moved into an apartment through community housing and became part of our Supported Independent Living Program.  Judy thrived in her independence for many years, building meaningful connections and sharing her joy with those around her.

In March 2025, as her needs changed, Judy transitioned to Spruce Street Residence, where she received 24-hour care and support.  Even in this new chapter, Judy’s presence continued to enrich the lives of everyone she met.  Her resilience, kindness and ability to teach us invaluable lessons will remain with us always.

Judy loved to bowl and was a proud participant in Ontario Special Olympics Bowling.  She looked forward to outings with her teammates and colleagues, and especially enjoyed the snack afterward, which became part of the fun and camaraderie.

She treasured her friendship with her best friend Anne, with whom she shared countless special moments.  Whether enjoying an outing at Anne’s camp, Christmas dinners with her family or spending quiet afternoons colouring together, their bond was genuine and filled with love.  Judy’s face would light up whenever Anne walked into the room, a testament to the joy their friendship brought to her.

Judy will be deeply missed by her relatives, her best friend Anne, all the staff and board at Community Living Iroquois Falls, the many friendships she made through Special Olympics bowling, and by all who knew her at DeTroyes Avenue apartment complex.  Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the lasting impression she left on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

We are grateful for the blessing of having shared so many years with Judy, and we will carry her memory in our hearts forever.

She was predeceased by her mother Alexandra (Sandra) Carr and her sister Ann Valiquette. She leaves behind her siblings Anita (Luc) Carr, Alex Smith, Jeff Carr and Darlene (Gary) Monteith, her best friend Anne Drapeau and all her Community Living family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Iroquois Falls Legion on Sunday, December 7, 2025 between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Community Living Iroquois Falls.
