Kathleen O’Mara (nee Davies)

July 7, 1920 – April 21, 2020

 Kathleen (Kay) nee Davies O’Mara, born in Leeds, England on July 7, 1920, passed away on April 21 at the Anson General Hospital, Iroquois Falls, Ontario. Kay was the loving wife of the late Dan O’Mara (1998) and was predeceased by her brothers Bill and John.During World War II, Kay served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) both as a medic and firefighter.  Kay and Dan were married in Leeds, England on December 26, 1944, while Dan was serving Canada in the Royal Air Force.

Beloved Mother of Patricia (Gordon) Scott of Wilson Lake; Debi (Ken) Zurby of Port Dover; and Dan (Carol) O’Mara of Temagami. Proud Grandmother of Jason (Catherine) Scott; Kenny and Alex (Julie) Zurby; Kelly (Mathias) Inthamoussu; Danny Robert (Jessica) O’Mara. Loving Great Grandmother (GGKay) of Griffin and Zennon Scott; Jaxson, Ava and Justus Daniel Zurby; Valentina Inthamoussu and Tayah, Kiera and Grace O’Mara. Survived by sister in law Mildred Fraser and many nieces and nephews in Canada; England and Australia. Kay was also supported by her close neighbors Isabelle and Rocky Cyr. Special thank you to the compassionate health care staff at the Anson General Hospital.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church on July 7th, 2020 at 1 pm to coincide with Kay’s 100 year Birthday Day a celebration of Kay’s life will follow the mass.

The family offers the suggestion of a donation in lieu of flowers to the South Centennial Manor Building Fund, (donations payable by cheques only to the order of AGH Foundation).  The maximum of people allowed in St-Anne's Church is 30% of its full capacity;

 Funeral services taking place outdoors will be limited to 50 attendees;

 The wearing of a mask by everyone in the funeral home during visitations and funeral is recommended;

 No memorial donations nor Mass will be accepted in person at the funeral home;

 No food nor beverage services will be provided;

 Washrooms will not be accessible;

 Everyone must follow proper health and safety advice, including physical distancing of two metres from people who are not from the same household or their established 10-person social circle;
