In loving memory of
Kirk Howie Liznick
July 1, 1953 – April 4, 2023
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Kirk Liznick on Tuesday April 4th, 2023 at the age of 69 at the Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus. He was born on July 1st, 1953 in Iroquois Falls, Ontario to the late George Liznick and Audrey Liznick (nee Olaveson). He was also predeceased in 2004 by his wife Catherine Liznick (nee Weir). He will be deeply missed by his sons Owen Liznick (Ashley) and Doug, his grandchildren Mia and Oliver, and his partner Sue Tysick. He was the brother of late Marilyn Liznick, late Eric (Carol) Liznick, Mark (Mona) Liznick, Brock Liznick and late Drake Liznick. Kirk also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Kirk loved hunting, fishing, ATVing, cycling, going for long walks, and just generally being outdoors. A gifted conversationalist, Kirk could make fast friends of anyone he met, no matter where their paths crossed. This trait helped him meet people and make new friends in Carleton Place, after he moved south to spend more time with his grandchildren.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Kirk’s life on Saturday May 20th, 2023 from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm at Carleton Place Canoe Club 179 John Street, Carleton Place, Ontario.
Celebrations of his Life will be held in Iroquois Falls at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation, and would be greatly appreciated.
