Linda Hardy

In loving memory of Linda Jane Hardy, January 26, 1963 – May 19, 2024.

It is with heavy hearts but with deep gratitude for her life, that we announce the death of Linda Hardy (nee Andrews) at age 61. She is survived by her daughter Amanda, son T.J. and step-daughter Renée, beloved Nana of Myles and Parker, Shaiden, Reece and Nora, Lucian, Caleb and Brady, cherished daughter of Ottily Andrews (predeceased by her father Jim Andrews and brother Michael Andrews), sister-in-law Penny Andrews, dear sister of Brenda Davies (Jim), Randy Andrews (Cynthia Turner), Janice Andrews (Andy Morris), Auntie to Kelly and Sean Andrews, Jacob, Matt and Stuart Davies and Jessie and Lexie Andrews, fairy Godmother to Haely Larose, best friend of Nancy Liznik and Teri Staples.

Linda served her community of Iroquois Falls as a paramedic and as part of the nursing staff of both Anson General and Bingham Memorial Hospitals. She also served as a paramedic to the communities of Timmins, Smooth Rock Falls and Matheson. Patients and colleagues remember her for her competent care and her compassion.

People will also remember Linda as the proprietor of a well-loved store in Iroquois Falls called Penny Pinchers.

Linda was fearless and independent. She loved adventure and was happiest behind the wheel of her R.V. taking her grandchildren to fun-filled destinations. She loved driving her sea-doo or sled to fish on the Abitibi, spending her summers at Nellie Lake and playing music with her friends. She would tell you, “Make the most of each day. You never know when it might be your last.”

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Anson General Hospital who cared for Linda in her final days and for the diagnostic and care teams at North York and St. Michael’s Hospitals in Toronto. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Anson General Hospital Hospice Room or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Please join us for a celebration of Linda’s life at the Royal Canadian Legion, 185 Devonshire Avenue, Iroquois Falls from 1 – 4 on Friday, May 24, 2024. Sharing of tributes will begin at 2pm.
