In loving memory of
Louise Golding (nee Gervais)
January 14, 1941 – August 13, 2025
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Golding in her 84th year, on August 13th, 2025.
Predeceased by her devoted husband of 62 years, Albert Golding she leaves behind her cherished children, Mark Golding (Michele) and Diane Genereux (Mike), and her adored grandchildren, Diedra Golding, Amy Barton (Brandon), Kyla Genereux (Noah), Daniel (Emily) Humber, Mark Humber, Geoff Humber and the great grand-children Lilly and Olivia Barton.
Louise was the sister of Tom (Pat) Charette, the late Réjean Charette, Marcel (Sharon) Charette, Yvon (Bev) Charette and Larry Charette. She will also be deeply missed by her extended family and a wide circle of friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.
A woman of opinions, steadfast love and quiet strength, she lived her life surrounded by the things and people she cherished. She and her husband shared a passion for their cottage — a place where summers were filled with visitors, fishing, long evenings on the porch, and gardens that flourished. She found joy in tending flowers and vegetables alike, often sharing the fall canning with family and friends.
The heart of her home was always the kitchen. Cooking was her domain, and she was well-known for her remarkable meals — each infused with love and, more often than not, a “secret ingredient” she never quite shared, keeping her recipes uniquely hers. She had a gift for baking bread that was second to none, and it was a family tradition to hover nearby, waiting for the loaves to come out of the oven. Cooling was simply never an option — everyone knew the best slices were enjoyed warm, fresh, and dripping with butter.
She loved reminiscing about her own mother, passing down family stories that connected generations. Her children especially treasured these moments, listening to tales of years gone by reflecting on their own memories and of course enjoying her homemade treats. She poured love into her family, always making sure they knew how much they mattered to her.
Her friendships were equally dear to her — she had a way of making people feel valued, and cared for, sharing poutine, a hearty laugh and thoughtful conversation.
As per her wishes, her ashes will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
Her family invites you to honour her memory by cooking a meal for someone you love, tending a garden, sharing a good story, or, perhaps, baking bread and enjoying that first slice while it’s still warm — just as she would have wanted
The family would like to thank the Lady Minto Hospital staff, Dr. Ross, & Dr. Fontaine for their care.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada and would be greatly appreciated. If you wish to send online condolences to her family, to share your memories or photos of Louise, please visit www.irvineandirvinefuneralhome.com
