With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Lucien Adélard Girard at the Lady Minto Hospital of Cochrane on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 99. 
He will be greatly missed by his childrenDaniel L. (Susan) Girard, Francine Girard-Griffith (Larry), Rob (Melissa) Girard, his grandchildren Jeremy (Penny), Jody (Mark) , Jennefer (Mike), Larry Jr, Ryann, Maia, Joshua and his great-grandchildren Jaxson, Zoey, Oliver, Mikko, Ebonee, Desiree, Beauden, Jacob, and Dakota.

He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.  

Predeceased by his wife Aline (nee Lamarche) Girard, his parents Adélard and Alice (nee Blais) Girard and all his siblings Rosaire (Simone) Girard, Oscar (Angeline) Girard, Marie (Ernest) Robert, Arthur (Rosanne) Girard, Phillippe (Barbara) Girard, Roger (Rita) Girard, Aurore Girard, Desneige (Uclide) Pilon and Marguerite (Herman) Girard.

As per Lucien’s wishes, cremation has taken place, no funeral will be held but there will be a graveside memorial in the spring.

C’est avec le cœur lourd que la famille vous annonce le décès de Lucien Adélard Girard survenu le vendredi 3 janvier 2025 à l’hôpital Lady Minto de Cochrane, à l’âge de 99 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Daniel L. (Susan) Girard, Francine Girard-Griffith (Larry), Rob (Melissa) Girard, ses petits-enfants Jeremy (Penny), Jody (Mark), Jennefer (Mike), Larry Jr, Ryann, Maia, Joshua et ses arrière-petits-enfants Jaxson, Zoey, Oliver, Mikko, Ebonee, Desiree, Beauden, Jacob et Dakota.

Il sera manqué par plusieurs nièces, neveux, autres parentés et amis.

En respectant les vœux de Lucien, l’incinération a eu lieu et il n’y aura pas de funérailles mais il y aura un mémorial à la tombe au printemps.
