C’est avec une profonde tristesse que sa famille vous annonce son décès survenu le mardi 9 juin 2026 à l’hôpital Lady Minto de Cochrane à l’âge de 88 ans. Elle était la fille de feu Philippe et de feu Annette Gagnon (née Paradis).

Madeleine laisse dans le deuil son tendre époux depuis 68 ans Paul Émile Viau, ses enfants Robert (Berthe) Viau, Carole Viau et Lucille (Art) Lessard, ses petits-enfants Marc (Sam), Tammy (Roly), Angèle (Ivan), Lorraine (Brian), Alain et Crystal, ses arrière-petits-enfants Alina, Ryas, Holly, Lyla, Gibson, Melvin, Riley, Lexey, Bruce, Ryan, Nadia et Kendall ainsi que ses arrière-arrière-petits-enfants Bennett et Asher. Elle était la sœur de Thérèse (feu Gratien (Pierrot)) Frenette, Yvonne (feu Paul) Claveau, feu Irène (feu Etienne) Lauzon, Paul (Marguerite) Gagnon, Laurette (Bob) Bourdon, Berthe (Dennis) Covey et feu George (Margarita) Gagnon. Elle laisse également tous les membres de la famille Viau, plusieurs neveux et nièces, autres parentés et amis.

It is with great sadness that the family of Madeleine announces her passing on Tuesday June 9, 2026 at the Lady Minto Hospital at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Philippe and the late Annette Gagnon (née Paradis).

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 68 years Paul Émile Viau, her children Robert (Berthe) Viau, Carole Viau and Lucille (Art) Lessard, her grandchildren Marc (Sam), Tammy (Roly), Angèle (Ivan), Lorraine (Brian), Alain and Crystal, her great-grandchildren Alina, Ryas, Holly, Lyla, Gibson, Melvin, Riley, Lexey, Bruce, Ryan, Nadia and Kendall and her great-great-grandchildren Bennett and Asher. She was the sister of Thérèse (late Gratien (Pierrot)) Frenette, Yvonne (late Paul) Claveau, late Irène (late Etienne) Lauzon, Paul (Marguerite) Gagnon, Laurette (Bob) Bourdon, Berthe (Dennis) Covey and late George (Margarita) Gagnon. She also leaves behind all the member of the Viau Family, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
