Maggie passed away peacefully at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the age of 91. She will be missed by her children Gabriel (Frances) Hookimaw and Noella (late Darrel) Blackwell. She will be missed by her grandchildren April, Samantha (Justin), Shawna (Christopher), Gabe Jr., Leonard, Miranda, Darrell Jr. ‘’DJ’’, Dillon, Priscilla, Carson and her great-grandchildren Kaydence, Payton, Daniel, Dakota, Ethan, Neepin and Sage.

Maggie was the sister of Connie Chakasim.

She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Maggie was predeceased by her parents David and Mary (nee Wesley) Chakasim, her children Leonard, Paul, Maureen, Raymonde, Peter Jr.  and her siblings Sympharien, Sydney, Eli, Theresa,  Josephine and George.

Visitations will be held at Irvine & Irvine funeral home, 70 seventh Avenue South, Cochrane on Thursday January 25, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm and also on Friday January 26, 2024 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. 
The Funeral Service will follow on Friday January 26, 2024 at 11 am at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 301 Sixth Ave. of Cochrane. The interment will take place at the Birchill Cemetery in the spring.
