Mr. Marcel Fontaine

October 12th, 1941 – March 8th, 2020

It is with great sadness that his family announces the death of Marcel on March 8th, 2020 at South Centennial Manor, at the age of 78. He was the son of the late Désiré Fontaine and late Bernadette Fontaine (nee Bégin). He was the father of Eric (Anne Fontaine) and Stéphane. Marcel was grand-father of Patrick (Cindy Charbonneau) and Anick (Jesse Fortier). He was the brother of Georgette, Huguette, Gilles, Gaétanne, Jean-Marc, Gérald, Solange, Normand, Myriam and Johanne; he was also brother of the late Gisèle, late Carmen, late Camille, late Yvon, late Jean-Guy and late Réjean. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters in law Lisette Brosseau (Paul) and Lucie Chrétien (Hubert) and brother in law Pierre Paul Perron (Françoise Pagé), nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at South Centennial Manor for the great care given to Marcel during his stay at the manor.

Visitations will be held on Thursday March 12th, 2020 from 7 to 9 pm and Friday March 13th, 2020 from 9:30 am at Residence Funéraire de l’Abitibi Témiscamingue, 200, 3e Rue Est, La Sarre (Québec). The funeral Mass will be held at St-André Church on Friday March 13th, 2020 at 10:30. The burial will be held in the spring at the La Sarre Cemetery

Est décédé le 8 mars 2020  à l'âge de 78 ans, M. Marcel Fontaine, domicilié à Iroquois Falls anciennement de La Sarre, fils de feu Désiré Fontaine et de feu Bernadette Bégin, époux de feu Lida Perron.

M. Fontaine laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Eric (Anne Fontaine) et Stéphane Fontaine; ses petits-enfants: Patrick (Cindy Charbonneau) et Anick (Jesse Fortier); ses frères et soeurs: Georgette, Huguette, Gilles, Gaétanne, Jean-Marc, Gérald, Solange, Normand, Myriam et Johanne; il était également le frère de feu Gisèle, feu Carmen, feu Camille, feu Yvon, feu Jean-Guy et de feu Réjean; son beau-frère Pierre Paul Perron (Françoise Pagé) et belles-soeurs Lisette Brosseau (Paul) et Lucie Chrétien (Hubert), ses neveux et nièces ainsi que de nombreux parents et amis (es).

La famille tient à remercier le personnel du manoir South Centennial à Iroquois Falls pour leur dévouement envers le bien-être à Marcel pendant son séjour au manoir.

Parents et amis sont invités à la Résidence funéraire de l’Abitibi Témiscamingue, 200, 3e rue Est, La Sarre (Québec) le jeudi 12 mars 2020 de 19h à 21h ainsi que le vendredi 13 mars 2020 à compter de 9h30. Les funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 13 mars 2020 à 10h30 en l'Église St-André de La Sarre. L'inhumation aura lieu au cimetière de La Sarre.
