1925-2022

Margaret Joyce Gaunt (nee Shaw) born July 13th, 1925 at Brock Street, Fort William, Ontario died September 13th, 2022 in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario. Margaret, daughter of George Harvey and Lulu Anna Shaw (nee Norris), was devoted to her family and friends, and most of all, to her husband and children. She will live on in our hearts and through her many paintings, knitted items, and crafts that grace our homes. Leaving to mourn her loss are her children: Judy & Kosta Smilianov, Barry & Marianne, David & Frances, Susan & Claude Therrien and Nancy; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Maurice Burke, sister-in-laws Eileen & Alice Shaw, three cousins Janice Marshall, Jim Norris, and Robert Shaw, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Leaving this world before her was her beloved husband William Gutherie Gaunt (Gus), son William, her parents, son-in-law Glen Higgs and her sisters Florence (George) McKenzie, Greta (Elmer) Gerig, Laura (Morris) Donaldson, Ramona (Mel) Storey, her brothers Glen (Vera) Shaw, Allan Shaw, brothers-in-law Stuart (Aria) Gaunt, Douglas Gaunt and sister-in-law Patricia Burke.

A Memorial service will be held 9:30am Tuesday May 23rd at the Westfort Chapel, 420 Gore St. and the interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Thunder Bay.

In memoriam donations may be made to the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital Foundation and would be greatly appreciated.
