In loving memory of

Marilyn Randa (nee Empey)

January 20, 1949 – April 19, 2020

Marilyn passed away peacefully on Sunday April 19th, 2020 at the age of 71 in her home surrounded by her loving family after a short but hard battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband and life partner Doug Randa, loving daughter Tracy (Eric) Cave, cherished grandchildren Michael, Darren (Ashley), Alison, Benjamin and GG to Carter. She also leaves behind her loving sister Marg (Zack) Zajac of Hornepayne, Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Bonnie Randa of Oakville, Brian and Anne Randa (Loring), many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents Francis and Irene Empey and brother Frank Empey.

Marilyn worked for the town of Cochrane as deputy treasurer prior to her retirement. She was very involved in the Holy Trinity Church and the diocese of Moosonee. She was always so generous and would do anything for anyone who was in need. She was devoted to her family especially her grandchildren and could be found anywhere they were whether that be at the arena or the baseball field. She was always there cheering them on Their #1 fan. She will be missed by many and remembered by all but especially her “Six Woman in a Van” crew Pam, Donna, Helen, Anne and Margy and her very special neighbour Shirley. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Cochrane, (donations payable by cheques only and can be mailed to 149 Third Street West, Cochrane, Ontario, P0L 1C0).

When Covid-19 pandemic situation has resolved a Celebration of her life will be held in Cochrane, date & time will be announced at a later date.
