Mrs. Mary Frances Scott (nee Sobchuk)

October 14, 1930 – June 4, 2022

Mary passed away peacefully at her home in Iroquois Falls, at the age of 91 on Saturday June 4th, 2022. Mary was predeceased by the love of her life, Robert, her parents Sophie and Stanley and brothers and sisters Brona, Paul, Pauline, Jenny, Alex, John, Ann and Mike.

Born and raised in Ansonville, Mary made a career in the Woodlands Department at Abitibi Power & Paper Company. She was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Anglican Church, an avid Bridge player, cook, baker, curler, x-country skier, and traveller. Mary helped instill traditional values in 3 generations of family members. Mary had many lifelong social bonds. Friends and family were always welcome at her home and cottage. South Centennial Manor became Mary’s home in her later years, with the staff catering to her every need.

Mary is survived by her sisters Helen, Sonia, her brother Gary, in-laws Bonnie, Louis and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Irvine & Irvine funeral home, 641  deTroyes Avenue, Iroquois Falls, on Wednesday June 8th, 2022 from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Reverend Patricia Dorland at St-Mark's Anglican Church in Iroquois Falls on Wednesday June 8th, 2022 at 1 pm and the interment will follow at the Abitibi cemetery in Iroquois Falls. Please note: no reception will be held following the service.
