It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt Mary who passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025 at the age of 85, surrounded with the love of her family.

Mary was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband Raymond. Next week would have marked their 65th wedding anniversary, a milestone that beautifully reflects the life they built together, one deeply rooted in strong family traditions and filled with love and laughter. Their commitment to each other was a beautiful example of the kind of everlasting love that will bring us comfort in the difficult moments we face without them.

Mary is survived by her brother Philip (Elaine) Kolomeitz and was predeceased by her sisters Pearl, Elsie, Sonia, and brothers Pete and Mike. She was the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was the proud and cherished mother of six daughters, Mona (late Dave), Diane (Mario), Carole, Lynn (Brian), Nicky (Kevin) and Suzie (Steph), each of whom carries forward her strength, wisdom, and wonderful sense of humour. To her grandchildren Brian, Andrew, Jonathan, Cassandra, Austin, Tyler, Zackary, Keagan and Alain and great-grandchildren, Leah, Hayden, Lily-Rose and Jacob, she was more than a grandmother—she was a bright light, a source of unconditional love, and the keeper of countless cherished memories.

Mary lived a life defined by love. Her warm heart, steady presence, and joyful laughter touched everyone who knew her. She found joy in simple moments, gatherings around the table, preparing meals, baking apple pies and making the best rice krispie squares and butter tarts for her family. She loved country music, dancing with her husband, scratching lotto tickets, playing bingo, sharing stories across generations, and the blessing of watching her family grow.

Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and strength, and she will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25th, 9:30 am to 11 am at Maison Funeraire Genier Gauthier, followed by a chapel service at 11am. (Chapel service will be live streamed)
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society – Cochrane Temiskaming Districts or Lady Minto Hospital – Villa Minto in her memory.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her love will continue to live on in all of us.
