Naomi Gordon (nee Burns)

January 15, 1940 – August 12, 2025

It is with deep sadness that the family of Naomi Gordon (Burns) shares the news that she has gone ahead to join the Lord. She passed peacefully with her husband and her dear friend, Lois, at her side. Naomi is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dennis. She was predeceased by her son, Michael and infant son, Mark.

Naomi was born in Porquis Junction to Myrtle and Dale Burns. She is survived by her siblings Christine, Colleen, Leonard, Bill and Mark. Along with her parents, she was pre-deceased by her sisters Wilma and Gail. She is also mourned by numerous family members on the Gordon side. In addition, Naomi will be remembered fondly by friends who became family over the years.

All will miss her warmth, her smile and her laughter. Often Naomi showed her love of all by sharing her talents in the kitchen. All guests to her home were welcomed with a tea or a Pepsi and delicious treats, especially her fudge. Naomi was a school bus driver for nineteen years and also worked for a number of years as a telephone operator at Ontario Northland from where she retired. Naomi worked with many women as part of Women’s Ministry sewing quilts that were provided to a variety of countries abroad.

There will be a graveside service held at the Union Cemetery in Porquis Junction on Tuesday August 19th, 2025 at 10 AM as per her wishes. 

Memorial donations would be welcome in Naomi’s memory for the Silver Birches Pentecostal Camp, P.O. Box 28, Chaput Hughes, Ontario P0K 1T0
