Mrs. Nellie May Kennedy (nee Cosens)
September 19, 1939 – January 16, 2023
Nellie passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Center in Matheson on Monday, January 16th, 2023 at the age of 83. She was the daughter of the late John Cosens and late Mary Elizabeth Cosens (nee Cannon). She was predeceased by her husband William Arnold Kennedy, her companion Jack Oliver and her son John Kennedy, as well as her daughters Della May (Normand) Giguere and Caroline Elizabeth Kennedy, and her grandson Mark Giguere. She leaves behind, her granddaughters Angie Giguere (Ian), and Cheryl Hopkins (Marco), great grandchildren, Ryan, Reese, Madeline and Isaac. She was the sister of the late William Cosens, late Helen Osborne, late Bobby Cosens, and late Jimmy Cosens. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many great friends.
A very special Thank you to all of the Nurses and staff at the Matheson Rosedale Center for the excellent care Nellie received during her years with you. Your dedication, compassion and support are truly extraordinary.
Visitation will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 5th Avenue, Matheson on Friday January 20th, 2023, from 11 am to 1 pm followed by the funeral service at 1 pm. The internment will take place in the spring beside her husband at the Lakeside Cemetery in Matheson.
