In Loving Memory of
Penny Joanne Dawkins
September 20, 1948 – December 6, 2023
With heavy hearts her family announces the death of Penny Dawkins at the age of 75.
She leaves to grieve her husband of 48 years, Gord, sons Mathew (Candice) and Ben (Val), and grandchildren Matty and Chase. Her sisters Amy and Jackie (Scott). Her brother-in-law Guy (Pat), and sisters-in-law Shirley and Fay. Her special aunt, Isobel Davidson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Elsie Olaveson, and sisters Christine and Ida. Her parents-in-law, Ivan and Mabel Dawkins, sisters-in-law, Zella (late Ozzie), Pat (late Don), and Lois, and her brother-in-law Ron.
Penny was a registered nurse and later became an occupational health nurse. She devoted her life to caring for people. Penny and her family’s wish was that she spend her last days at home. This was only made possible by the overwhelming amount of support received from friends, neighbours and caregivers. An exceptional friend, Rosanne Trottier, was at Penny’s side as she passed through the stages of dementia. The Dawkins Family will forever be indebted to Rosanne and the wonderful people that were there in our time of need.
Relatives and friends are welcome at Irvine & Irvine Funeral Home, 641 deTroyes Ave on Friday June 7, 2024 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St.Anne's Church on Saturday June 8, 2024 at 10:30 am followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, Iroquois Falls Branch.
If desired, in memoriam donations can be made to the South Centennial Manor Redevelopment Fund.
