In loving memory of
Peter “Pete” Shea
September 30, 1960 – May 31, 2026
Peter “Pete” Shea left this world in the very hospital where his life began, Anson General Hospital. He will be laid to rest just up the road from completing his journey from where it began. - a full circle he joked about for years, now quietly and beautifully true.
Pete was the son of the late Aldea (Mousseau) Shea and James “Jimmy” Shea, who’s famous saying, “Have a Jim Dandy day,” Pete proudly carried on. He is remembered with love by his siblings Carole (Brian) Sandrin, Linda (George) Heller, Ruth (Joe) Zabizewski, John, Larry, and Paul Shea. He leaves to mourn, Diane Romain, his children Joshua, Harley, Adam, and April, his grandson Xander as well as many nieces and nephews including Jamie (Gigi), Kingston, Dylan, Lola, Mark (Lisa), Sophie, Mathew Zabizewski, and Conor Shea.
For 36 years, Pete worked at the Iroquois Falls paper mill. He started at the bottom, working alongside his father and brothers, and through hard work and loyalty rose to operate the crane. The mill was more than a workplace—it was where he built lifelong friendships and earned respect from many people who believed in him and liked him for him. Pete loved strong coffee, quiet mornings, and pretending he wasn’t watching TV even when he was. His humour was sharp, original, and impossible to imitate. His jokes lifted rooms, and no one ever delivered them quite like he did. There was only one Pete.
He leaves behind many friends who will miss his presence and the way he made ordinary days feel lighter.
We welcome everyone who knew and loved Pete to come share memories, laughter, and a final “See you on the flip.” We encourage people to wear green & bring pictures if they may.
