With great sorrow the family of Raymond announces his passing on Tuesday December 12, 2023 at the age of 61. He was the son of the late Edward Babin and Mary Singer and husband of the late Evelyn Black (nee Missabie). He was the father of Anna (Pat) Purdy and Robert Black (Jessica) and proud grandfather of Avery Purdy, special uncle of Danielle Diamond and late Priscilla Black.

Raymond was the brother of late Emely Black, late John Black, Shirley Black (James Nadon), late William, late Rosemary, late Alfred Black, late Ronald Black, Bernadette (Doug) Morris, Edward (Margaret) Black and June Black (Francis Archibald) and late Elizabeth Babin, David Babin and Myrande Tremblay. He was the brother in-law of late Glen Missabie, David Missabie, late Melvin Missabie and late Gloria Missabie.

Raymond will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The wake for the public and extended family will be held at the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation (Wahgoshig First Nation), 140 Concession Road, on Tuesday December 19th, 2023 from 11 am to 2 pm. The Funeral Service will start at 11 am on Wednesday December 20th, 2023 and the Funeral Procession will  follow to the Burial Site of the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation Cemetery, interment to begin at 12 noon.
