Raymond “Butch” Jacques

August 15, 1940 – February 16, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family of Raymond announces his passing on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital at the age of 84. Raymond will be deeply missed by his wife Sheila (nee Priebe) Jacques, his children Nicole Poulin (nee Jacques), Rodney Jacques, his grandchildren Julie Poulin (husband Joey Bélanger), Véronique Poulin and his great-grandchildren Kipton Bélanger, Tessa Bélanger and step great-grandchild Brayden Bélanger-Burton.

Raymond was predeceased by his parents Gérard and Elzire (nee Brunet) Jacques and was the brother of late Marguerite (2019) (Lacroix), late Oliva (2016) (Gérard) Béchard, late Jeanette (2008) (Robert) Arbour, late Claudette (1991) late (Charles) (2017) Gagnon, late Léo (1978) (Jeannine Grenier), late Jean-Paul (2011) late Joyce Simpson (2008).

He leaves behind his brothers Maurice (Gaby Dubé) and Émile (Clara Labelle) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Raymond was a life member of The Knights of Columbus Council #3392. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sledding, curling, playing guitar, and spending time with his family. Past Involvements included: Artic Riders Skidoo Club, Conservation Club, Hunters and Anglers.

He worked 35 years at the Smooth Rock Falls mill for Abitibi, Malette and Tembec, retired in 1998. Member of Union Local 32.

He was a man of humor “would laugh at his own jokes”, hard worker, devoted, and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

A funeral mass service will be held at the Ste-Gertrude Church, 48 Hollywood Avenue of Smooth Rock Falls on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11 am with Father Gérald Chalifoux presiding.
