Mr. Raymond Maurin

July 29th, 1936 – August 29th, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful and sudden death of Raymond at the age of 84 in the Spruce Street Group Home on Saturday August 29th, 2020.  Born July 29, 1936 Raymond moved to Iroquois Falls in March 1992, where he resided at Spruce Street Group Home happily for 28 years.  He participated in the Community Connection program enjoying community outings, special events and heading to Tim Hortons.  Raymond had no family and was considered a citizen of the world, however he had years of friendship, kindness and love provided from the dedicated staff at Spruce Street.  Raymond was still active and spry even though he was aging, he loved coffee and van rides and sweet treats.  Nothing pleased him more than a relaxing soak in his whirlpool.  His contagious laughter and love of anyone’s coffee left for taking will be sadly missed by all.  He will be fondly remembered in the hearts of everyone that knew him. 

Visitations will be held at 641 deTroyes Avenue, Iroquois Falls on Wednesday September 2nd, 2020 from 1:30 pm followed by funeral service at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow and his ashes will be buried in the Abitibi Cemetery.
