Rita Bernier (neé Boucher)

June 20, 1935 - June 1, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family announces her passing at Timmins & District Hospital on Mon, June 1, 2026 at the age of 90.

Rita is survived by her 5 children, Suzanne, Roger, Simone, Paul & Carole. Also left to mourn are her 5 grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren.  Her remaining 7 siblings, Ray Boucher, Rachel Purdy, Jeannette & Roch Dupéré, Gerry & Rita Boucher, Fernand & Malou Boucher, Linda Drapeau, & Larry Boucher.  In-laws, Nicole Charron-Boucher, Micheline Boucher & Sandra Boucher.  Many nieces, nephews & cousins.

She is now reunited with her husband of 67 years, Albert, infant daughter, Hélène, grandsons Allain Charette, Mark Olaveson and her parents, Dosithée Boucher & Cécile Mousseau.  As well as her siblings: René Boucher, Roger & Janet Boucher, Roland Boucher, Eric Boucher, Léo Boucher, Florence & Jake Paquin, Melba & Jacko Morin, Freda Galipeau. In-laws, Suzanne Boucher, Albert Purdy, Albert Drapeau, Bev Boucher.  

The Funeral Mass will be held at Sts-Martyrs Church in Iroquois Falls on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 11:00am. Her Ashes will be laid to rest in the Abitibi Cemetery Columbarium following the Mass.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to les Anges de la cuisine de Sts-Martyrs and would be greatly appreciated.
