In Loving Memory
Roger Albert Sauvé
August 19, 1930 – May 24, 2024
It is with great sadness that his family announces his passing on Friday May 24, 2024 at the Anson General Hospital, Iroquois Falls at the age of 93.
He leaves behind his children Louise (Tom) of Havelock, Donald (Diane) of South Porcupine, Suzanne (Garry) of Calgary, Doris (Alan) of Moncton NB and Robert (Louise) of Iroquois Falls, his grandchildren Patrick (Heidi), Anne (Simon), Melanie, T.J., Donald (Julie), Justin (Guilia), Stephan (Chantale), Celine, Ryan (Kayla) and Bradley, his great grandchildren Samantha, Anamika, Owen, Nolan, Logan, Bryce, Kaileigh, Oakley, Xavier, Oliver, Jasper, Ryker and Tracey. He also leaves behind his sister Rejeanne Glover and brother in-law Leon (Marielle) Poulin and many nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Rita Sauvé (nee Poulin) in 2011, his daughter Joanne, his granddaughter Jolene, his parents Isaie and Georgiana Sauvé (nee Cyr), his sisters Alvina McLean, Rita Lelièvre and Denise Lortie, his brother in-laws Arthur, Louis, Samuel, Léo and Emmanuel Poulin and his sister in-law Thérese Lelièvre.
Roger built our family home on Monteith Road. He also built a cottage at Watabeg Lake where we had numerous families get together. Roger worked at Abitibi for 38 years and was a longtime member of Knight of Columbus. He spent a lot of time around his sawmill, working on tractors. He liked to read historical books on Canadian history.
Cremation will take place and he will be laid to rest at a later date at the Abibiti Cemetery with his wife and parents and Celebration of his life will follow.
