It is with great sadness that the family of Samuel announces his passing on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the Lady Minto Hospital in Cochrane at the age of 82. He will be deeply missed by his children Cynthia Chum and Richard (Melanie nee Ellison) Chum, his grandchildren Elianna and Jacob Chum.

Samuel will be missed by his brother Lawrence Chum, numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Predeceased by his wife Katie Irene (nee Mark) Chum 2014, his parents and his siblings George Raymond, Ernest, Maureen Bella Barbara, Susan and Wilfred.

Samuel lived in North Bay most of his life with his wife Katie, married on November 15, 1966. He worked as a welder / iron worker until his retirement in 2010.

Visitations will be held at Génier Gauthier funeral home, 70 Seventh Ave. South, Cochrane on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

The funeral will be held in Moose Factory on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
