Sharon Sowa (nee Bellinger)

May 24, 1948 - December 28, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family of Sharon Sowa shares the news of her passing. Sharon died peacefully, wrapped in the love of her family, at Credit Valley Hospital on December 28, 2025 at the age of 77.  

While her intense battle with cancer was difficult, Sharon’s spirit remained unbroken. She faced every challenge with incredible bravery, never losing sight of her goal to return to her home. 

Sharon found her greatest joy in cooking (making perogies), spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her dog Daisy whom she doted over. To Sharon, family was everything, and she was the heart of ours. 

She will be deeply missed by her children Tammy (Ron) Lambert, Chris (Franck) Sowa and Shannon (Jason) Laszlo.  Also left to grieve are her grandchildren Emma, Noah, Owen, Kyle, Margaux, Dylan and Jacob.  She is survived by her sister Donna of Brockville.

Sharon was also survived by her wonderful friends Ruth Swartz, Debbie Lessard, and Vivianne Lascelle whom she spent time cooking, chatting and drinking coffee with.

Sharon was predeceased by her husband Zygmunt and her parents Howard and Dora Bellinger.

A longtime resident of Iroquois Falls, Sharon was a woman with a kind heart and a sense of humour.  She faced her illness with the same courage and determination that defined her life, never wavering in her love for her family and friends.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the ICU team at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. The incredible care, compassion, and dignity shown to Sharon by the doctors and nurses during her journey provided immense comfort to her and her loved ones during a difficult time.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
